Jeremiah Tucker was born in Florence, Alabama (Muscle Shoals) and grew up around Pickwick Lake, where he learned guitar through the sounds of bluegrass and southern rock. His grandfather, who played country blues on banjo and harmonica, had a profound effect on him. This influence led Jeremiah to move to Memphis instead of Nashville when he felt the calling to pursue music. He believed Memphis offered more to learn and a way to become a better writer due to its rich musical history.
Though leaning towards country music, Jeremiah continued to write R&B and blues. Shortly after writing for Pyramid Publishing and 31 in the Green, he was offered a record deal and released the album Gone to the Dogs, which was produced by Keith Sykes and featured many of Memphis' finest players, including Jack Holder, Sammy Creason, and Harry Peel.
Later, Jeremiah worked with Norbert Putman, another associate of Jimmy Buffett, and became labelmates with Eddie Floyd, Ruby Wilson, Rufus Thomas, Dobie Gray, Planet Swan (Billy Swan’s daughter), and Don McMinn. This exposure led to more songwriting opportunities and honed his skills as an audio engineer and producer. In 2003, Jeremiah caught the attention of Levon Helm, who invited him to Woodstock to assist in his legendary barn studio.
While in Woodstock, Jeremiah recorded many sessions with Levon Helm, his daughter Amy Helm, Sean Costello, and others, including Barrett Baber of The Voice. Jeremiah wrote "Pull Me Down" and the title track of Barrett's album Fratbar Superstar, which he also engineered and produced.
Jeremiah has produced several songs for artists such as:
"Storms of Life" – Bernard Alison
"Arkansas" – Craig Davis
"Buccaneers Hold" – Gann Brewer
"Looking for a Steel Guitar" – Tucker Hill
